When it came time to think of a name, we wanted something creative and a little bit different, kind of like us! Our name is borrowed (in slightly modified form) from my great-grandmother. I never had the chance to meet her but heard a lot of stories about her growing up. So when it came time to think up a name I wanted something that rolled off the tongue pretty easily but with a deeper connection.
Because let’s face it folks, we’re a pretty unique outfit. The underlying premise of the Gestalt psychologists resonates with us, we can look at all of the individual parts that make up a person or an organization or an event but all of those parts put together represent something that is greater than just the sum of the individual contributions.
And that’s really who we are, acknowledging that we are more than the sum of our parts and we bring that perspective to the services that we offer. We love photography and getting great pictures for our clients but we’re more than that because we’ve spent many years working with people to help them achieve their goals. Why not acknowledge that we are complex creatures and roll all of these things into one concept? So that’s what we have done and we want to help you live your MODzent life.
At MODzent we’ve worked with clients spanning America and the World. We are committed to continual development. Let us help you realize your vision, capture those monumental occasions, or just snap some fun pictures.
We seek to provide an individualized experience for each client. We are all unique so too will be your experience with MODzent. We are interested in learning about you so we can best serve your needs.
The cake gets eaten, the flowers will die, but the wedding photos will last forever. From weddings to company meetings and social events to multi-day conferences.
We love being outside shooting landscapes and waterfalls but also enjoy portraits, real estate, products and more!
We can help you get on the right path for you.
The value of looking at your business with fresh perspective.
I have worked with Brian for three years and he is a talented & trusted photographer. His work speaks for itself but his friendly and outgoing personality and day of professionalism and attention to detail make him stand out above the rest. Brian prides himself with a quick response and turn around time and always strives to meet the needs of any of his clients. I would highly recommend working with MODzent Photography!
If you need a photographer, we highly recommend MODzent. They did amazing for our wedding!!
Brian was so much fun to work with during our family photo shoot. We have a busy toddler who didn’t want to stay still, yet he was able to capture our family in some beautiful shots (with amazing lighting) that made it look like our toddler was an angel the whole time.
Brian is a phenomenal photographer who has an eye for that perfect shot. He is super easy to work with and makes each session so fun. My husband and I used Brian for both our Engagements and our Wedding and I have no regrets. When it comes to the sessions themselves, he takes his time and does his best to get the photos that you want. He will go to great lengths to get that “perfect” shot. When it comes to the final products, the edits are beautiful. I treasure the photos from this amazing event in my life. I highly recommend Brian as your next photographer!
Brian has an amazing eye and will pick up the smallest details of your event! He has photographed and filmed for me multiple times! He’s easy to work with, super-cool, supportive and encouraging! I highly recommend him! (when he’s not shooting for me!)
If you’re looking for an incredibly talented photographer with an eye for detail and getting the very best out of you and your photos, then you’ve come to the right place. Brian is a true professional who captures the moment with such creativity. On top of that, he’s just a fun guy to be around. You simply can’t go wrong.
I have used MODzent several times now; first for engagement pictures, some wedding pictures, and then family pictures as our little family has grown. Each time was a fun and very enjoyable experience. He has a unique eye for detail and interesting ideas for different shots, but is open to suggestions, as well. I would definitely recommend his talents, as I plan to use him again in the future.
To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
Taking a picture is like giving a piece of your soul away. You allow other people to see the world through your eyes.
A common mistake among those who work in sport is spending a disproportional amount of time on “x’s and o’s” as compared to time spent learning about people.
Don't shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.
Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.
Photography is an austere and blazing poetry of the real.
If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes.
Sometimes we forget that everyone walks through this world on a slightly different path. I’m here to celebrate individuality by helping you find your unique place in this world. I’m a product of some very unique experiences myself.
I studied psychology as an undergraduate and graduate student with a layover for a masters degree in business management. Then I tried to get as far away from psychology as possible, ending up in the renewable energy industry where I was able to use all of the things I learned both in the social sciences as well as business school to run a company focused on assisting in the development of renewable energy projects.
But the classroom called me back and I ended up staring at a group of somewhat bewildered students on a Tuesday morning in September, probably with a similarly bewildered look on my face. Education had changed a lot since I had last been on campus. I ran into one of those students recently and learned that she is working towards her own degree in psychology.
I’ve been back in the classroom at least a little bit of each year since 2015. In that time I’ve realized just how important the study of psychology is to me personally and to all of us more generally. Each class brings new opportunities for me to connect with the roots of psychology and to help others appreciate how all of the different aspects of our biology and experiences fit together. I’ve developed a grand appreciation for the reality that simple theories are beautiful in their brevity but likely leaving out a lot of the human experience.
We are impossibly complicated creatures without being impossible to understand…or help. And that’s where MODzent comes in as a celebration of my own diverse interests helping others to recognize all of the diverse elements that make up their own individual humanity.
